Chinese Ambassador to Damascus Fiong Biao said that the US threat to impose sanctions on the participants of the Damascus International Fair will not discourage Chinese companies from participating in the activities of the 61st session of the exhibition.

In an interview with SANA, Ambassador Fiong Biao pointed out that the Damascus International Fair is a source of strength for the Syrian people and a window for developing the Syrian economy. And the Syrian.

The Chinese ambassador revealed that 58 Chinese companies will participate in the activities of the Damascus International Fair this year, a number far exceeding their participation in the past years, and that the area of ​​wings booked by China more than 380 square meters.

Ambassador Fiong Biao said that the companies that will attend the activities of the exhibition work in four areas, the first specializes in reconstruction equipment and materials such as building materials, aluminum, engines, decoration materials, decoration and wind power generation and industrial equipment and secondly specialized in office equipment, solar, household electrical appliances and equipment for the manufacture of medicines and medical supplies and the third specializes in products. With advanced technology as infrared devices and digital products, the fourth specializes in importing, assembling and manufacturing cars.

China is willing to strengthen cooperation with Syria within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative, while China continues to provide scholarships and assistance to alleviate the suffering of Syrians, which amounted to 800 million yuan, including food aid, electrical appliances and buses.

Ambassador Fung Biao reiterated his country's support to Syria in the fight against terrorism and to find a political solution to the crisis, stressing his country's participation in the reconstruction process since it contributed to the rehabilitation of Syrian cadres in various fields. He pointed out that before 2011, Syria was one of China's main investment and cooperation markets in the Middle East, where the balance of Chinese direct investment reached about US $ 2.37 billion, but the balance of trade was affected during the crisis and declined.

Fiong Biao explained that his country exports to Syria appliances, electrical machinery and light industrial products, while importing agricultural products.

On the development of the Chinese economy today, Ambassador Feng Biao pointed out that his country is the second largest economy in the world, the first country to trade in goods and the first in foreign currency reserves and it contributes 30 percent of the world economy.

He pointed out that China aims to build a well-off society in 2049 with a view to building a well-off society in an all-round way. Despite the challenges and difficulties of the US trade war, which hinder the development of China's economy.

Ambassador Fiona Biao affirmed that his country does not want war with the United States, noting that the Chinese people have wrapped themselves in their leadership and their ability to contain the negative aspects that could affect the country's economy and continue to develop to ensure a prosperous economic future.
