The Ministry of Culture honored the winners of the 2019 State Appreciation Award in the field of criticism, studies and translation of the researcher Dr. Labana Mashouh and in the field of literature by the poet Saber Falhout and in the field of arts by the great singer George Wassouf in a ceremony held for this occasion in the mixed-use hall in Dar Al-Assad for Culture and Arts
In a speech during the ceremony, Minister of Culture Mohammed Al-Ahmad said: “We celebrate today the awarding of state awards to the honored people who have earned them thanks to the intellectual effort and excellence they have given to their country and people. The people of their country, pointing out that Syria has great creative cards still shines despite the terrorist war on it, because the intellectuals are the best aid to the homeland in times of adversity and crisis.
Dr. Saber Falhout stressed in his speech that his writing of poetry was an expression of the event and the occasion and was a survey and reading of the coming days carrying a national and national message to provide a set of poems that he delivered on different national occasions and concluded with two credits to the mother of the martyr and the heroic Syrian Army.
For her part, Dr. Mashwah expressed her pride in this honor for the greatness of the significance of the fact that the award is an appreciation from the homeland with all its faith and hope, pointing out that the honoring is an incentive for more giving and giving and devoting the creator's appreciation between his family and his country.
Sultan Al-Tarab said: “Akram is in my homeland as he is going through a difficult ordeal and I thank this appreciation which comes at the height of giving and I stand with my country because his joy is my joy and sadness and my sorrow will not be abandoned and his soil.” He paid tribute to Syria's leadership, people and army .. Syria civilization and culture .. Every Syrian is required to represent his civilization and culture and to preserve his country.
Mashouh, born in Damascus in 1955, holds a Ph.D. in 1986 in general linguistics “Generative Grammar” University of Paris VIII France with a high honor. She is a professor at the Faculty of Arts, Damascus University from 2005 to 2016 and a working member of the Arabic Language Academy since 2008 and Chairman of the Board of Trustees. Falhout was born in Sweida in 1935.He holds a BA in Arabic and a Diploma in Education from Damascus University and a Ph.D. in Political Science from Sofia University in Bulgaria. He served as Head of the National Guidance Department in the Political Department of the Syrian Arab Army and the Armed Forces and as Director General of Dar Al-Ba'ath. He served as Director General of the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) and served as Vice President of the World Federation of Journalists.
The singer was born in Homs in 1961 and started his artistic age at the age of twelve through concerts that revealed his voice and high abilities and cooperated in a small age with the great artist Wadih El Safi and the Lebanese composer George Yazbeck, who gave him songs launched in the world of music and sang from the tunes of major Arab musicians And belonging to multiple generations of Baligh Hamdi, Sayed Makkawi, Zuhair Isawi, Nour El Mallah, Shaker El Mougui, Salah El Sharnouby, Nour El Mallah, Amjad El Atafi and received the title of Sultan Al Tarab after his song Al Hawa Sultan in 1985 .. He has about twenty albums and participated in dozens of festivals in Arab and foreign countries.
