(CNN Spanish) - In a protest note, the Costa Rican government requested explanations from Nicaragua for the actions of several members of the Army of that country, who, according to the same note, entered Costa Rican territory and killed a Nicaraguan .
The Costa Rican Foreign Ministry said the government raises a strong and resounding protest over the events that were recorded this Monday at the end of the morning, in Pocosol, north, about 150 meters from the border with Nicaragua.
The note adds that, according to witnesses, the members of the Nicaraguan Army killed Rubén Loáisiga, whose body remained in the area, and returned to Nicaraguan territory.
The Nicaraguan government rejected the accusations in a statement and described them as unfounded, ensuring that they intend to manipulate a common crime with false claims. He also pointed out, without giving details, that Costa Rica seeks to cover up the death of another Nicaraguan named Ruiz, which occurred on August 12. He accused the Costa Rican public force of killing him and claims that he has already reported him to authorities in that country.
Regarding Loáisiga, the National Police of Nicaragua reported that a unit from El Castillo, a border town with Costa Rica, received a complaint for the assault on a grocery store by four subjects, who also kidnapped a woman, who then left freedom, to flee to Costa Rican territory.
According to Nicaraguan authorities, the victims identified one of the subjects as Rubén Loáisiga, with a criminal record, but it was through the Costa Rican media that they learned of the finding of his body in Pocosol.
The protest note from Costa Rica, sent by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Lorena Aguilar, demands that Nicaraguan Foreign Minister Denis Moncada be assured that similar actions will not be repeated and insists that the entry of Nicaragua's military into the territory Costa Rican constitutes a serious violation of the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Costa Rica.
