President Bashar al-Assad issued today the Legislative Decree No. 18 of 2019 amending Article (46) of the Military Pensions Law issued by Legislative Decree No. (17) of 2003 and amending Article (44) of the Pension Law of the Internal Security Forces issued by Legislative Decree No. 2 / for / 2012 /.
The following is the text of the Legislative Decree:

Article / 1 / Article 46 of the Military Pensions Law issued by Legislative Decree No. 17 of 2003 shall be amended to read as follows:
A military officer shall be entitled to receive a pension of all kinds when he is referred to the pension, equivalent to the full salary and the compensations allocated to the rank and grade on which the pension was transferred according to the following.
.. Three months salary for those whose actual services reached / 15 / fifteen years and below.
.. One month salary for every five years of active and additional service for those whose actual services amounted to more than / 15 / fifteen years.
If the period is less than five years, the subsidy shall be calculated in a relative manner and the parts of the year shall be neglected.
B / 1 / The military person who is referred to the health pension due to military operations or similar cases, or as a result of being targeted by a terrorist gang or hostile elements, shall be granted a monthly financial aid as follows:

The Ministry of Finance shall provide the expenses incurred for the implementation of item (1) of this paragraph and shall be disbursed from the budget of the General Organization for Insurance and Pensions.
3. The payment of the monthly financial aid shall be suspended in the event of the death or deprivation of the pensioner.
Article / 2 / Article (44) of the law of the pensions of the internal security forces issued by Legislative Decree No. / 2 / of / 2012 / m to be amended as follows ..
A military officer shall be entitled to receive an immediate pension when he is referred to a pension of all kinds equivalent to the full salary and the compensation allocated to the rank and grade on which he was referred to the pension according to the following:
Salary of two and a half months for those whose actual services reached / 15 / fifteen years and below.
.. One month salary for every five years of active and additional service for those whose actual services amounted to more than / 15 / fifteen years, but not to exceed the salary of / 5 / months.
If the period is less than five years, the subsidy shall be calculated in a relative manner and the parts of the year shall be neglected.
B / 1 / The military person who is referred to the health pension due to military operations or similar cases, or as a result of being targeted by a terrorist gang or hostile elements, shall be granted a monthly financial aid according to the following rates:

Article / 3 / The provisions of this Legislative Decree shall apply to cases of injury occurring from 15-3-2011 AD.
Article / 4 / This Legislative Decree shall be published in the Official Gazette and shall come into force as of the first month following the date of its issuance.
