[Seoul 29th Reuters]-The Supreme People's Conference, the North Korean parliament, approved a constitutional amendment that included further expansion of the authority of the leader of the Korean Labor Party, Kim Jong-un, the country's highest leader. The Korean National News Agency (KCNA) reported.

Kim Jong-un's title has just been revised from the "Supreme Leader" to "The Supreme Leader of the State" by the previous constitutional amendment. Experts pointed out that this might be a move towards concluding a peace treaty with the United States.

Choi Ronghae, Chairman of the Supreme People's Conference, said, “The position of (Mr. Kim Jong-un) as a national representative has been strengthened, and an integrated leadership system throughout the national government has been established.”

This constitutional amendment seems to aim to further clarify the legal status of Kim Jong Un as the head of state.
