Trump said Florida "will be ready"
President Trump said Florida "is going to be totally ready and Puerto Rico is fully ready" for Hurricane Dorian, which is expected to arrive in the United States during Labor Day weekend.
Trump made the comment this morning during a call to the Fox Killer Brian Kilmeade Show. He thanked FEMA and "all the first responders."
On Tuesday, the Trump administration announced plans to move $ 155 million from the FEMA disaster relief fund to immigration priorities, which, along with FEMA, is the responsibility of the Department of Homeland Security.
A FEMA spokeswoman said the agency has sufficient funds and acknowledged the challenges of responding to Dorian "in addition to a complex recovery effort" from previous storms.
