(CNN) - The brother of Olympic gold medalist Simone Biles was charged in connection with a shooting on New Year's Eve in Ohio that left three people dead, according to a joint statement from the Cleveland police and the Cuyahoga prosecutor.
Tevin Biles-Thomas is charged with murder, voluntary manslaughter, criminal assault and perjury for a fatal shooting on December 31, 2018 in Cleveland, according to the statement.

The shooting occurred during a party at a residence after a group of uninvited people were asked to leave, according to the statement.
Biles-Thomas was arrested in Liberty County, Georgia, this Thursday, and is being held pending extradition to Cuyahoga County, according to the Liberty County jail.
"We appreciate our partnership with the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor's Office and are confident that their efforts will bring justice to families affected by this terrible incident," said Cleveland Police Division chief Calvin Williams.
Biles-Thomas remains at the Liberty County Jail and is scheduled "to be prosecuted on Friday, September 13 at 8:30 am at the Cuyahoga County Justice Center," the statement said.

CNN requested the indictment of the Cleveland prosecutors and the photo of the arrest of the Liberty County Jail.
Simone Biles is five times Olympic medalist and 14 times world champion.
