As part of the activities of the Damascus International Fair in its sixty-first session, Al-Basel Exhibition for Creativity and Invention opened today the 19th session organized by the Ministry of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection in cooperation with the Higher Commission for Scientific Research, the Excellence and Creativity Commission and the Inventors Association.

The exhibition, which covers an area of ​​1820 square meters, includes 387 creations and inventions of 827 participants from public and private universities, the Ministry of Education, Youth Union of the Revolution and Vanguards, the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority, the Agricultural Research Authority and the Inventors Association, in addition to eight entries from the Iraqi Inventors Association. In a statement to SANA, Deputy Minister of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection Rifaat Suleiman said that the exhibition reflects the will of the Syrian people and represents the sincere desire of students, researchers and specialists to continue working and search for the best technologies, equipment, ideas and innovations that serve economic, industrial, agricultural, scientific and other development projects.

Dr. Sahar Al-Fahoum, Assistant to the Minister of Higher Education for Scientific Research Affairs, pointed out the importance of relying on national inventions and taking care of them in order to benefit from them in the reconstruction phase and building Syria, noting the large number of participants and the quality of projects and inventions presented, indicating that there is a plan to follow up with the concerned authorities to apply them on the ground.
