(CNN Spanish) - This Friday, in the clashes between the fans of the Cerro Porteño and Olimpia clubs in Asunción, capital of Paraguay, one person died during the second final of the Premium League of the Futsal FIFA APF tournament that It was held in the Arena of the National Secretariat of Sports (SND).

The National Police confirmed that four people were arrested with firearms. 172 fans of the Cerro Porteño club and 39 of Olimpia were also arrested. The reasons that led to the riots that began before the first minute of the game are unknown.
According to witnesses told local media, there was an exchange of firearm shots outside the SND Arena. In the immediate vicinity of the stadium the violent fans faced storms, blows and shots, also destroying vehicles and everything they found in their path.
In an official statement the government of Paraguay, through the SND expressed its "deep regret to the family of the deceased person", apologized "to the families that went to encourage their athletes" and repudiated acts of violence. They also offered collaboration to the judicial authorities "to identify those responsible and clarify the reasons for what happened."
