Speculation for new elections: Johnson apparently invokes Cabinet to extraordinary meeting

Is the hard Brexit without a deal? The British opposition is probably only this week to prevent this. Speculation fuels the situation in addition: Will Prime Johnson whip up new elections?

In the UK, more and more speculation is being made about government plans for a quick re-election.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson ordered all Conservative MPs in the face of a looming parliamentarian revolt against his Brexit plans for Monday night. This was confirmed by a government spokeswoman in London.

According to media reports, the cabinet should also come together for an extraordinary meeting in the early evening. With a new election , Johnson could destroy all of Parliament's plans to prevent an EU exit without an agreement.

The deliberations on Monday evening were about how the government should respond to a threatened revolt by several Conservative MPs.

The rebels want to side with the opposition after the return of Parliament from the summer break on Tuesday to prevent an unregulated exit of Britain from the EU by law. This undermines Johnson's plans to win concessions with the threat of leaving without transitional agreements with the EU. However, the EU has so far excluded.

"If it comes down to No Deal, then we stand for remaining in the EU"

Meanwhile, opposition leader Jeremy Corbyn appealed to parliamentarians to prevent an EU exit without agreements. This week may offer the "last chance". His party is working with other forces to "lead the country away from the abyss" again.

On Tuesday, the opposition wants to submit its plans for a law against a no-deal Brexit.

The Brexit Labor Party expert, Keir Starmer, promised to pass a law that would force Johnson to renew the withdrawal period if the Prime Minister failed to reach an agreement with the EU by 31 October. It would then be possible for Britain to stay in the EU until 31 January.

Corbyn believes there should be new elections. "In this election, Labor will give people the chance to regain control to have the last word, with credible options on both sides, including the ability to stay [in the EU, Red.] ," Corbyn said at one Performance in the north of England.

A vote of no confidence against Premier Johnson was on the table. "If it comes down to No Deal, then we stand for staying in the EU and if there is any other deal, we will decide in a democratic process which position we will take."

Labor is currently trying to pull the so-called rebels from Johnson's conservative party on their side. Between two and four dozen Tory MPs have been among those who do not want to support the head of the government's leadership.
