MOSCOW - Russian Ambassador to Egypt Sergei Kirpichenko has died in a hospital in the Egyptian capital, the Russian Foreign Ministry announced today.
"This morning a talented diplomat and a trusted companion extraordinary ambassador and Russian commissioner to Egypt Sergey Vadimovich Kirpichenko died suddenly in a Cairo hospital," Russian media quoted a ministry source as saying.
Kirpichenko has been the Russian ambassador in Cairo since 2011 and before that led Russian diplomatic missions in the United Arab Emirates, Libya and Syria.He belongs to a long-standing family of a father who worked as a fighter in the 103rd division of the Kremlin Guard and his mother, the Arabized Russian Valeria Nikolaevna Kirpichenko.
