(CNN) - Tropical storm Fernand formed in the western Gulf of Mexico, according to the National Hurricane Center. This is the sixth tropical storm named after the 2019 Atlantic hurricane season.

Fernand has maximum sustained winds of 40 mph (64 km / h) and is 257 km east of La Pesca, moving west at 11 km / h.
The forecast indicates that Fernand will land on the north coast of the Gulf of Mexico on Wednesday night. Tropical storm warnings are published on the northeast coast of Mexico from Barra del Tordo to the mouth of the Rio Grande.

Dorian is not the only system that meteorologists are observing.
As the category 2 hurricane moves slowly towards the US, there are three other disturbances: a tropical depression and two possible cyclones still in formation, which are brewing in the Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic Ocean.

There is a 90% chance of a cyclone forming in the Atlantic Ocean, near the coast of Africa, in the next 48 hours.
