Moscow-Sana
Russia today called on all parties to exercise restraint and reduce military activity on the Korean Peninsula.
"We call for the reduction of military activity on the Korean Peninsula and urge all parties concerned to exercise maximum restraint in their military activity," Deputy Foreign Minister Igor Morgulov told reporters at the Eastern Economic Forum, Sputnik news agency reported.
He added that "there are not many ways except to sit at the negotiating table to discuss issues of concern to everyone and therefore we support the immediate launch of negotiations and restraint in the military field."
Talks between the United States and the DPRK on the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula stalled after the failure of the second summit between Kim Jong-un and Donald Trump in Hanoi last February, while Washington continued its hostile practices and attempts to escalate tensions in the region.
In another context, Morgulov announced that Washington and the armed Taliban insist on the presence of Russia in the possible signing of an agreement on which the parties work.
He said that we should first know when the agreement will be achieved and what it is, and that, at the request of the participants in the negotiations, Russia will be present in signing this agreement in some way if it is agreed upon. .
