(CNN) - The UK Ministry of Defense has published aerial images of Dorian's damage on the Great Abaco Island in the Bahamas. They were captured from the Royal Navy Wildcat helicopter.

The island was one of the first to be hit by Hurricane Dorian after becoming a Category 5 hurricane.

The helicopter had been conducting reconnaissance flights over the islands to assess the damage and provide important information to the government of the Bahamas.

At least 7 people died when Dorian devastated the islands.
