China has reiterated its opposition to the use of US repressive measures against Chinese companies, describing Washington's behavior as "immoral".
"China opposes the use of national power by the United States to suppress relevant Chinese companies without any evidence," Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Geng Shuang told a news conference. "This behavior is not respectful and immoral."
Geng called on the United States to "stop deliberate defamation and accusation against China, stop the shameless repression of Chinese companies and provide a fair and non-discriminatory competition environment for Chinese companies to operate normally in the United States."
He stressed that the Chinese government has always supported Chinese enterprises and conducted overseas economic cooperation in accordance with the principle of market and international rules.
Earlier, US media reported that the US Justice Department had "launched a new investigation" into allegations of theft of Chinese technology company Huawei.
In this regard, Huawei issued a statement criticizing the US use of state organs to interfere with the normal business of Huawei.
