The questioned Venezuelan president Nicolás Maduro ordered to declare an orange alert in the border area with Colombia and also activated sovereignty exercises from September 10 to 28. He also confirmed that his Foreign Minister Jorge Arreaza has called on the guarantor countries of the peace agreement between the Colombian government and the FARC to "take an initiative to resume the path of peace." Maduro reiterated that the conflict is only in Colombia and that Venezuela has had to suffer the effects of this problem.
