Russia and India stressed the necessity of the rule of international law and non-interference in the internal affairs of other countries, stressing their commitment to the principles and objectives of the UN Charter.

In a joint statement following a summit between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the Russian city of Vladivostok today, the two countries reaffirmed their commitment to the purposes and principles of the UN Charter, including the principle of non-interference in the internal affairs of member states, noting the need to further strengthen multilateralism through United Nations central coordinating body for world affairs.

At a news conference in Vladivostok after the talks, Putin said: "Russia and India are cooperating closely in the military-technical field.

`` Russia is not only supplying India with weapons but also jointly with its Indian partners to produce state-of-the-art military equipment, '' Putin said.

The Indian prime minister is visiting Russia to participate in the Eastern Economic Forum, which is taking place today at the Russian Federal Far East University in Vladivostok.

The two sides concluded a governmental agreement on cooperation in the field of joint production of spare parts and parts of Russian-made weapons and military equipment.
