A fire broke out today in a confectionery shop in al-Hijaz area in Damascus, killing two people whom a source in the Damascus Police Command said they were working in.
The source told SANA that the two people died of suffocation due to the fire, which was likely caused by a gas cylinder leak in the kitchen of the shop.
A fire source in Damascus confirmed that the fire, which caused material damage in parts of the shop, was extinguished.
