The Prime Minister, Eng. Emad Khamis, inaugurated the headquarters of the General Authority for Wireless Telecommunications Services in Damascus countryside and briefed its departments on the services it provides to both public and private parties.It was stressed the importance of continuous development and follow-up of the work of the telecommunications system and expand and update it in accordance with the requirements of work.
It was decided during the meeting to continue to restore telecommunications services to the liberated areas in accordance with priorities and develop the administrative and technical infrastructure of the institutions affiliated to the Ministry, the optimal investment of infrastructure and equipment administratively and economically, and develop programs and plans to develop the telecommunications sector in line with modern and advanced technologies and to achieve the national dimension.
The General Postal Corporation was granted 3 months to prepare a development vision for the administrative and economic components of the joints and branches of the institution and focus on the expansion of digital services.
Khamis also toured the headquarters of the National Authority for Network Services and listened to an explanation of the services provided by the company and the stages achieved in the data center and the electronic signature project.
The visit was attended by the Minister of Communications and Technology, the Minister's aides and the directors of the institutions, bodies and companies affiliated to the Ministry.
In another topic, Eng. Khamis, accompanied by the Minister of Public Works and Housing and the Governor of Damascus Countryside, briefed him on the stages of the youth housing project in Dimas and the challenges facing the project.
The Public Institution for Housing was asked to set a specific timetable for the completion of the entire project and to announce within three months the subscription of 14,000 apartments to be completed and the completion of infrastructure works, services and public utilities due to the strategic importance of the housing sector as a key driver of the economy and employment.
