For the first time in the history of the Damascus International Fair, the Central Bureau of Statistics participates in the sixty-first session, entitled “From Damascus to the World”, with the aim of introducing visitors to the center's work, activities and services focused on conducting surveys, statistics and research for all economic and service sectors.
The Director of the Pavilion George Azar stressed the importance of the participation of the Statistical Office in the Damascus International Fair as a national economic and social demonstration that was able to publicize the activities of the Center and the services it provides, pointing out that the visitors of the Pavilion were students, researchers and academics who expressed their admiration for easily obtaining the statistical information provided by the Office .
Azar considered that the participation was important for the Center to get acquainted with the views of citizens in the work of the Center, especially the specialists in addition to the importance of familiarizing citizens in general on how to deal with statistical researchers assigned by the Center during the conduct of surveys and statistics.
The pavilion of the Central Bureau includes the annual statistical collections in paper and electronic forms, researches and some publications known as the work of the Center in addition to the brochure “Syria in numbers” recently completed by the Center, which includes important information on its location, area, geography, administrative divisions, population and figures on the agricultural and industrial sectors and private sector projects and aspects Of educational life, transportation, communication and national accounts.
