Hungarian researcher and orientalist Bianca Spiegel has called on the European Union to lift unilateral coercive economic measures on Syria and instead contribute to its reconstruction efforts.

She said in an interview with the first government channel on Hungarian television and state radio Cushot that the situation in Syria is more secure than France.

She spoke of the Hungarian government's assistance to Syria, such as the restoration of a church destroyed by terrorists in the eastern town of al-Dameina (villages of the center of al-Qusair) and the rehabilitation of the town after its liberation by the Syrian Arab Army.

The researcher, who learned Arabic in Syria twice, studied history and psychology, and worked during the crisis to clarify the reality of what is happening to Hungarian public opinion.
