The Russian Defense Ministry denied media reports that several Russian soldiers were killed near the village of Goren in the far northwest of Hama province on the outskirts of the de-escalation zone in Idlib.
The ministry said in a statement published on Russia Today website that there are no Russian checkpoints in the vicinity of the village of Goren in the area of de-escalation in Idlib and information published by a Russian media that claimed the killing of military personnel of the Russian armed forces do not match the truth.
"We draw attention to the fact that the author of the report has repeatedly published unconfirmed information based on rumors," the ministry said in a statement.
A Russian newspaper published a report today "claimed that three officers of the Russian army were killed, while two others were wounded yesterday evening by two explosions carried out by gunmen in the vicinity of the town of Goren Idlib."
