A bill to postpone the UK's withdrawal from the European Union (EU) for three months from the end of October was passed by the British House on the 4th, in favor of a bipartisan group. Prime Minister Johnson, who is aiming for early withdrawal, proposed an October general dissolution general election, but was rejected by opposition opposition. The Johnson administration was established at the end of July to collect the confusion associated with the withdrawal of the EU, but the minority ruling party had no power to dismiss the withdrawal and was forced into a clogged situation.
The bill is expected to be enacted on the 9th after the Senate. The administration aims to withdraw after agreeing with the EU on the terms of withdrawal, but this time the “Delayed Postponement Bill” has divided the deadline for approval of the British Parliament from October 19th. If not, the government will have to ask the EU to postpone withdrawal until the end of January next year.
In addition to the opposition party, the bill also supported legislators who were removed from the ruling and conservative parties in favor of related proposals on the 3rd. It was passed with 327 in favor and 299 against, more than originally expected.
