Russian President Donald Trump's call to impose sanctions on Moscow after unauthorized rallies is an interference in Russian elections, the head of the Russian Federation's International Affairs Committee said on Tuesday.
"Of course these calls are an intervention by the United States in the Russian elections," Kosachev told Sputnik.
Members of the US Congress have raised objections to the performance of Russian government authorities and their engagement with outside demonstrators to participate in illegal and unauthorized gatherings.
Some 1,500,000 people took part on Tuesday in an unauthorized demonstration in central Moscow devoted to the Duma elections in Moscow and some 600 people were arrested for various violations.
