Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif stressed that the security of the Gulf region depends on the cooperation of its countries, pointing out that for centuries these countries have ensured their security without relying on others.
"For centuries, security in the Gulf region has been ensured by the countries of the region, and currently there is no security without cooperation," Zarif told reporters after meeting his Indonesian counterpart Retno Marsudi.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed ways to develop bilateral relations and exchanged views on international and Islamic world issues.
In turn, Marsoudi called for the full implementation of the Comprehensive Joint Action Plan for the Nuclear Agreement by all parties and for the Middle East to be stable, secure and prosperous.
Zarif arrived in Jakarta yesterday from a tour of several countries.
