The Congress of Guatemala approved this Friday in second reading the declaration of the state of siege presented by President Jimmy Morales for 22 municipalities of six departments of the country. The deputies will know the decree on Saturday in the third and final reading for final approval. This Friday it was reported that two civilians were shot in the violent acts recorded Tuesday in the department of Izabal and in which three soldiers also died. The Government described as "acts of violence allegedly led by insurgent groups linked to drug trafficking."
