The Palestinian Ministry of Awqaf has confirmed that the Israeli occupation authorities have stepped up attacks on Palestinian holy sites, especially Al-Aqsa Mosque and Al-Haram Al-Ibrahimi, and committed 109 violations during the past month.
The ministry said today in its report on the status of holy sites during the past month, quoted by Wafa Agency that the occupation forces and its settlers stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque more than 22 times and prevented the call to prayer at the Ibrahimi Mosque more than 51 times.
The report pointed out that the occupation forces fired poison gas canisters at the Palestinians during the storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque on the first day of Eid al-Adha, which resulted in dozens of cases of suffocation and closed its doors and deported a number of employees and arrested.
The report pointed out that the Israeli occupation forces stormed the chapel of Bab al-Rahma in the Al-Aqsa Mosque and attacked worshipers to prevent them from entering the chapel and uprooted olive trees in the square of Imam Ghazali near Bab Asbat.
In Nablus, the Israeli occupation forces stormed the east of the city and spread it around the tomb of Yusuf in preparation for settlers entering and performing provocative rituals.
