Latakia-Sana
In order to promote a culture of volunteerism and a sense of responsibility among youth and raise awareness and attention to aspects of hygiene and improve the aesthetic and environmental appearance, the Martyr Mahmoud Shehadeh Khalil Youth Association launched in Lattakia a new initiative entitled (My Home School).
"The initiative includes 30 youth units, including graffiti, rehabilitation of classrooms, decorating classrooms and benefiting from recycling to create things that can be used," the association's secretary, Suha Kamal al-Din, told SANA.
The two students, Nisreen Sabbagh and Ryan Taha, are participating with a group of students in painting and coloring the walls. They explained that their aim is to spread the artistic culture and encourage talented students to develop their abilities by organizing educational workshops to achieve this purpose.
Mohammed Bin Al-Nouman, a third-grade preparatory student, expressed his happiness to participate in the drawing workshop, pointing out that his duty to pay attention to his school and help to show its beauty has been raised on its school seats for 9 years and became for him as his home.
Sisters Ghadir and Hadeel Al-Essa confirmed that their successful experience in recycling and the creation of a mobile interactive library prompted them to participate in this initiative to urge students to take advantage of the surrounding materials and old objects to create new and useful things in an innovative way.
