The Economic Committee at the Presidency of the Council of Ministers held an extraordinary meeting chaired by Prime Minister Eng. Imad Khamis with the aim of taking direct steps and measures to provide goods and basic needs at discounted prices to citizens and developing a mechanism for effective influence to keep pace with the changes in the markets and control and combat monopoly cases and take legal measures to control illegal dealing in foreign currencies and tightening Control the manipulators and not tolerate them.

It was decided during the meeting to provide a loan to workers in the State free of interest and an appropriate installment mechanism to lease the basic materials and needs of the Syrian trade halls deployed in the provinces and increase working hours in these lounges and the continuation of work during public holidays in addition to running mobile cars in rural areas and suburbs and the opening of outlets and sales centers in Public institutions and companies with the mandate of the institution to lease crops of vegetables and fruits directly from the farmers, which limits the role of mediation rings.

The meeting of the Economic Committee identified the role of governors and local councils in supporting efforts to control markets through intensive field trips to prevent monopoly cases and ensure the availability of commodities in them, intensified rationing patrols and tightened market monitoring and imposing severe penalties against violators, in addition to direct foreign trade The main food commodity components to ensure their availability in the market in appropriate quantities and prices.

The committee affirmed that the relevant government bodies are in a state of instantaneous follow-up of the exchange rate fluctuations and immediate actions have been taken to give their results.
