LONDON (Reuters) - The work of the country's House of Commons will be suspended at the end of its work on Monday until the middle of next month, a spokesman for Prime Minister Boris Johnson said.
"Johnson will not allow any further meaningless postponement of Brexit," the spokesman said, adding that "MPs should vote in favor of early elections that Johnson will call later today to resolve this issue."
Political tensions in Britain have been exacerbated by the challenge by both the House of Commons and the House of Lords to Johnson's desire to leave the European Union on October 31, even if no agreement is reached, while the country is in disarray after passing a bill banning any prime minister from leaving. Without an agreement only after the approval of Parliament first.
While ministers have resigned from the British government, legal experts have warned that Johnson could face jail if he breaches the House of Commons decision to delay the EU exit if no deal is reached before the end of next month.
