A Turkish soldier has been killed by an explosive device in Hakkari province, southeast Turkey.

"The soldier died of wounds sustained when an explosive device planted by militants exploded in Gokorga district of Hakkari province in southeastern Turkey," the Turkish Defense Ministry said in a statement.

On the fourth of this month, a Turkish soldier was killed and two others were injured by an improvised explosive device planted by PKK militants on a highway in the southeastern province of Mardin.

The areas of south-eastern Turkey are increasingly tense because of the campaigns and arbitrary military measures implemented by the forces of the regime of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan against the people of those areas.
