(CNN) - Six out of 10 Americans say that President Donald Trump does not deserve to be re-elected, according to a new CNN survey conducted by SSRS, and now more say they are doing a bad job than a good one in keeping important campaign promises.

In general, the survey shows an image of a president who has done little to improve negative impressions about him or his work during his time in office. In several questions asked at the beginning of Trump's administration and again asked now, the survey finds few positive changes and a deep partisan polarization.

The 60% who say that the president does not deserve to be re-elected is similar to the 63% who felt this way in November 2017. That surpasses his most recent predecessors at a similar stage in his presidencies. In October 2003, a CNN / Gallup / USA Today survey found that 52% of Americans thought George W. Bush deserved re-election, and Gallup polls in 2011 found that the participation that said Barack Obama did not deserve to be reelected was located in the low of the 50 points.

The president's approval rating remains that of mid-August, with 39% approval of the work he is doing and 55% disapproval. Although any change in recent weeks has not been large enough to be statistically significant, its disapproval rate is the highest since the beginning of February, and approval is the lowest since January.

Trump's approval ratings on handling important issues are largely stagnant. Its approval rating for its management of the economy has fallen below 50% for the first time since the beginning of this year, and its ratings have worsened at least slightly in foreign trade, foreign affairs and environmental policy.
