Increase to 50 death toll from Hurricane Dorian in Bahamas

(CNN) - The death toll from Hurricane Dorian in the Bahamas has increased to 50 victims, according to a statement from the Bahamas Police Commissioner on Monday.

Forty-two bodies have been recovered from the island of Abaco and eight from Grand Bahama.

"We anticipate the discovery of more deceased people, as the search and recovery process progresses," the statement said.
