(Expansion) - The Government of Mexico announced the activities that will be carried out on the occasion of the celebrations for Independence Day, which include a cultural festival in the Zocalo of Mexico City, in which they will participate around of 1,000 artists from the 32 states of the country, and an “artistic program” in the former presidential residence of Los Pinos.

President Andrés Manuel López Obrador reported Tuesday in his morning press conference that the "presidential commission for the commemoration of events, processes and historical figures of Mexico" was created for the organization of this celebration, which is made up of different units.

How will the national celebrations be this 2019?

September 15th

Zoé Robledo, general director of the Mexican Social Security Institute and who is part of this committee, reported that a festival called Culturas de México will be held on Sunday, September 15.

This is what the official program includes:

Representations of the 32 states of the country will be invited to the festival in the Zocalo and almost 1,000 artists will participate, which will be presented from 4 in the afternoon.

The festival and the Scream of Independence will be transmitted by public media through the Public Broadcasting System from 4 in the afternoon until 11:15 at night.

That day in the Public Broadcasting System, starting at 10 pm, a program of a historical nature will also be transmitted on the origins of various social and political manifestations that motivated the independence movement, as well as El Grito on September 15 .

At 11 pm, President López Obrador will carry out the traditional Grito de Independencia and later there will be a concert by the band of the Center for Musical Training and Development of the Mixe Culture, the Cecam de Santa María Tlahuitoltepec, from Oaxaca, which will be presenting a number, and the show of pyrotechnic games.

The evening of September 15 will conclude with a concert in which the joint Mariachi of the Secretariat of National Defense, the Secretariat of the Navy and Eugenia León will also participate, which will liven up with a program to close the night. There will also be a popular festival, enlivened by the Original Band El Limón.

In Los Pinos a cultural event will also be held in which the recently deceased Celso Piña will be honored, who had been contemplated for this event.

The activities in this place will begin at 01:00 in the afternoon with the presence of musicians from Tierra Caliente and the program will conclude before the Scream.

As security measures, metal arches and regular operation are discarded.

An extended Metro schedule is also being set up so that people can access the Constitution Square.

What will be the celebrations at the National Palace?

After the shout at the National Palace, López Obrador will head a reception in the Central Courtyard, to which the diplomatic corps and cabinet members will be invited, who may take a companion.

There Mexican snacks and fresh waters will be offered, since in Zoé Robledo's opinion it is sought to privilege what happens outside. "The party is out of the Palace," he said.

The September 16 parade

The National Guard will also be incorporated into the parade organized by the Ministry of Defense and the Secretary of the Navy.

The participation of civil security forces is expected, whose model is homologous to that of the National Guard, such as those in Argentina, Chile, Spain, Italy, Portugal and Poland.

The Armed Forces will carry out a representation of the Independence, the liberal Reformation and the Revolution with allegorical cars in which the most significant moments of each of these historical events will be staged.

There will also be a contingent on the actions that the government has undertaken.

For the first time there will be 32 cultural and artistic representations of the country to accompany the parade.
