For his part, the director of the office of the prisoner club in Tulkarem Ibrahim al-Nimr said that the martyrdom of the sick prisoner Bassam al-Sayeh came as a result of failure to provide him with the necessary treatment as he was suffering from leukemia and atrophy of the lungs and heart muscle failure. His health.

Al-Nemer said that 25 prisoners with cancer and more than 500 prisoners need urgent intervention as a result of their worsening health, calling on international institutions and bodies to stand before their responsibilities and work to hold Israeli officials accountable for their crimes against prisoners.

The families of the sick and hunger strikers in Tulkarem also called on human rights institutions to intensify their pressure on the occupation to immediately release the sick prisoners, especially Motassem Raddad, Sami Abu Diak and Tareq Qadan.

Around 6,000 Palestinian prisoners are facing harsh detention conditions in the Israeli Occupation Forces. Some 1,800 of them are suffering from various diseases due to the spread of epidemics and germs, of which about 700 need urgent medical intervention, especially cases of cancer, kidney failure and paraplegia.
