The branch of the General Organization for Seed Multiplication in Sweida announced the opening of the door to contract with farmers from the cooperative and private sectors to cultivate areas of wheat Sham 3 and Duma 1 for the coming season in order to implement the production plan to secure the necessary seed for the coming seasons.
Wael Al-Taweel, Director of the Foundation's branch, said in a statement to SANA today that those wishing to contract should submit the required documents to the institution's branch office no later than the middle of next month. Seed improved at a price of 200 pounds per kilogram.
He pointed out that the branch began to ship quantities of sterile and sifted wheat seeds to the branches of the Agricultural Cooperative Bank in the cities of Shahba and Salkhad and the town of Al-Qarya in order to reduce the burden on farmers in their purchase.
The branch of the General Organization for Seed Propagation in Sweida Governorate recently began sifting and sterilizing 1500 tons of wheat seed to meet the needs of the agricultural plan.
