The industrial and handicraft sector in Homs Governorate is witnessing a clear recovery represented by an increase in the number of establishments that entered into production and work during the previous months, in addition to the large number of owners of industrial and craft establishments to rehabilitate their stalled and damaged establishments and start work and production.

Bassam Al-Saeed, Director of Homs Industry, said in a statement to the SANA Economic Bulletin that 45 different industrial establishments have been granted licenses in all productive sectors and are currently under processing, while the number of industrial establishments implemented in the province during the last eight months of this year, 60 facilities with a capital estimated at about 539 million SP has secured 154 jobs, while 34 establishments were implemented for the corresponding period last year with a capital of about 373 million SP and provided 126 jobs, pointing to the implementation of 32 craft establishments with an estimated capital of 182 million SP and provided 54 job opportunities and was licensed to 37 trades In progress distributed p To the food and engineering sector, primarily chemical and textile.

Bassam Al-Saeed pointed out that the industrial reality in Homs is witnessing a gradual recovery, especially with the return of the owners of establishments and crafts that stopped as a result of the crisis to the wheel of work and production or through the implementation and licensing of new facilities that support industrial production in quantity and quality, pointing out that the total enterprises that came into production during the first half of the year The current 32 establishments and the return of 199 industrial and craft enterprises to work in the food, engineering, chemical and textile sectors.

It is noteworthy that last year witnessed the return of 235 suspended facilities in addition to the implementation of 50 new facilities in the province.
