CSU regional group leader Alexander Dobrindt considers a new economic miracle in Germany possible through climate protection. There was "a real chance for an ecological economic miracle in this country," he said at the budget debate in the Bundestag. The prerequisite is that the coalition succeeds in putting together a "future package" of climate protection measures and economic development at the climate cabinet meeting next week.
Most recently, the CSU had repeatedly reported with proposals for climate protection. As the first of the three parties to the Grand Coalition, the CSU had adopted a "climate strategy" last weekend, with which the reduction of greenhouse gases could still be achieved. Accordingly, among other energetic building renovations and the purchase of energy-efficient household appliances are to be promoted.
At the general debate, Dobrindt declared climate protection a conservative concern. "The preservation of creation is precisely the nucleus of bourgeois conservative politics," he said. "That's why we protect the climate."
With a corresponding "future package" the federal government would have to get along without new debt demanded the CSU politician. "We hold the black zero," he said. "Who drives up the national debt, steals the money from the next generation."
