The Russian Foreign Ministry expressed concern over the announcement of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on the annexation of Palestinian land from the West Bank, adding that it would escalate tension in the region and undermine the hopes of peace.
"We express our concern over the Israeli plans which could lead to a sharp escalation of tension in the region and undermine the hopes for peace," the Sputnik news agency quoted the Russian Foreign Ministry as saying in a statement.
