Saved by a message in the bottle

A message inside a bottle saved the lives of three people in California demonstrating that when technology fails, conventional methods are effective. Curtis Whitson was sailing with his family, but they were stranded near the Arroyo Seco River. After trying to make their whereabouts known in every possible way, they decided to write a message on a receipt, put it in a bottle and throw it into the river. A few hours later, a California highway patrol helicopter came to the rescue. Now, Whitson and his family want to meet the person who found the message and helped save their lives to thank him.
