Wilmes said the project is under construction and has about 50% progress. The company expects test flights to take place in the first months of 2020. The Tulum Friends recently strengthened its alliance with the company Ehang, creator of the drones that already operate in Austria and China.

Although it is not yet determined what price the use of the service will have, the primary intention of this transport will be to offer panoramic flights to visitors to the Central Park Lagunas residential complex in Tulum.

According to Wilmes, this technology will show Mexico and other countries that ecological air transport is already a reality and can also be for the country in the future.

“People come to Tulum with an unforgettable experience and now they will travel up the lagoons and the cenotes. The route is scheduled and passengers will not be able to choose the road, ”added Wilmes.

Finally, Wilmes said that this drone can become a solution to traffic problems and at a lower price in tourist areas than those of a taxi, since it does not include gasoline, driver or maintenance costs.

The process to rent the experience will be carried out in the Central Park Lagunas and at the moment it is not planned to implement an application or some other means to make the reservation.
