[Madrid Reuters]-Spain's Social Labor Party and the radical left-sided party Podemos announced on the 10th that there was no progress in a new negotiation between the two parties aimed at overcoming disagreements and establishing a regime.
In Spain, political blanks have continued since the April general election. The Social Labor Party became the first party in the general election, but no political party could win a majority of seats.
If Congress doesn't trust Pedro Sanchez, the Social Labor Party leader, as official prime minister by September 23, a general election will be held on November 10.
“There is no way to reach an agreement,” said Adriana Lastra, the negotiator of the Social Labor Party. He urged Podemos to reconsider the request to add the party to the coalition. The Social Labor Party wants outside cooperation from Podemos, but Podemos refuses outside cooperation.
“The Social Labor Party is not moving from the concept of a single government as if it had gained a majority,” said Podemos negotiator Pablo Echenike.
Mr. Echenike said, “The situation will lead to a general election for our party,” after revealing that the Social Labor Party told Podemos that if Podems did not accept the concept of a single administration .
