The Ministry of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform, in cooperation with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), today inaugurated a food processing unit in the village of Barkaqa in Masyaf area of Hama countryside to provide job opportunities for women with martyrs and poor families.
In a statement to SANA reporter, the Director of Rural Development at the Ministry of Agriculture and supervisor of the project, Raeda Ayoub, explained that the ministry provided the necessary infrastructure to start the project in terms of securing the place, production requirements, operational capital and supervision and training staff, indicating that the unit's activity depends on the quantity of the region's production of animal and agricultural products and the needs of local markets. .
The project is a source of income for the people of the region, especially women, as it is famous for the abundant agricultural production, such as dairy and animal products such as dairy, cheese and their derivatives, Nada Shambourish, a trainer in the project, pointed out that the women in the village were trained on the best ways to manufacture these products to ensure their preservation and safety.
The Director of Hama Agriculture, Abdel-Moneim Al-Sabbagh, explained that the unit is a productive community project for the people of the village to spend their production of milk and other food products, as well as rural women working in the unit to manufacture food products that comply with Syrian standards and achieve food quality and safety standards.
Workers Madiha Ibrahim, Khatam Moussa and Randa Mousa expected the project to be a source of income for them and their families, especially as the region is famous for agricultural products, both animal and vegetable.
