(CNN Spanish) - The besieged President Nicolás Maduro rejected the most recent report on Venezuela delivered by the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Council, Michelle Bachelet, in which he denounces a serious human rights situation in that country .

This Wednesday, Maduro said that in the Bachelet report "repeat lies, lies, lies" without evidence and without testimony.

On Monday the high commissioner presented in Geneva, Switzerland, an update of her report on the state of human rights in Venezuela, and said that the situation in that country "continues to affect millions of people ... and with clear destabilizing impacts in the region "

Maduro said the high commissioner lies and that this report is because she is "envious."

"Why does Mrs. Michelle Bachelet lie about Venezuela?" Maduro said. "You came here and were told the whole truth, the official figures, why are you still lying? What do you respond to?"

“I evaluate Michelle Bachelet's behavior a lot. What does Michelle Bachelet have against the Bolivarian revolution? What does she keep against us? Why your envy? Why your negative attitude? Michelle Bachelet lies, regret Michelle Bachelet, enough of lies against Venezuela, ”Maduro said of the Chilean president's report.

In Geneva, Bachelet said Monday that “the economic and social situation” of the country continues to deteriorate rapidly, and that the economic and social rights of millions of people continue to be restricted.

"The economy is going through what could be the most acute hyperinflationary episode the region has experienced, affecting the ability to buy basic food, medicines and other essential goods," said the high commissioner.

Bachelet also expressed concern about the difficulties of accessing health services in that country, especially by 400,000 people who suffer from chronic diseases and who do not have access to medicines and treatments.

The high commissioner also said that her office is documenting cases of possible extrajudicial executions committed by the Special Action Forces of the National Police, FAES, and said that her office has not received a report on the dissolution of the FAES, recommended by the commissioner, and prevent cases of extrajudicial executions.

“My office documented cases of torture and ill-treatment, both physical and psychological, of people arbitrarily deprived of their liberty, particularly military. Detention conditions do not meet basic international standards and detainees do not have access to adequate medical care, ”said Bachelet.

But Maduro said it is all about lies and envy on the part of the high commissioner and criticized the fact that it did not conform to the official figures given by the Government.

Bachelet culminated his report calling again for the Government and the opposition to give priority to the negotiation that he considered as "the only way to overcome the current situation."
