[Dubai Reuters]-Iranian British ambassador revealed on November 11 that oil cargo on the oil tanker "Adrian Dahlia 1" was sold to a private company at sea. However, denying that Iran broke its promise not to sell oil to Syria, the European Union (EU) imposed sanctions on Syria, but Iran claimed it was out of scope.
The ambassador argued on Twitter, “In a meeting with British Foreign Minister Raab, he stressed that the actions of the British authorities against Iranian crude oil tanker Adrian violated international law.” “The EU sanctions cannot be extended to third countries. Although threatened many times by the United States, this oil tanker sold its oil to a private company at sea. No promises were broken.” Stressed.
The UK accused Iran of selling Adrian-loaded oil to Syria on the 10th. The tanker was captured off the coast of Gibraltar on suspicion of violating EU sanctions.
