The 4th Korea-Japan Hangawi Festival in Niigata was held on the 13th at the Ryutopia Niigata City Arts and Culture Center (Chuo Ward, Niigata Prefecture) on the 13th, which is designed to promote exchange between Japan and South Korea in accordance with the Mid-Autumn Festival in Korea. More than 1200 visitors, which was about 800 people, which greatly exceeded last year, enjoyed Korean traditional culture.
Hangawi refers to the Mid-Autumn Festival, a Korean Bon Festival, and the festival began in 2016. Traditional dances and taekwondo performances were performed by Shibata City's friendship city, Uijeongbu City Dance Company, and the venue was filled with applause and cheers.
Consul General John Mie of the Consulate General of Korea in Niigata hosted a greeting and introduced the Mid-Autumn Festival legend that the biggest full moon rises in one year and the wishes come true. “I hope that the relationship between Korea and Japan will improve and develop,” said the venue with great applause.
