+++ The morning live +++: Young entrepreneurs demand later retirement

2019-09-13T04:28:29.592Z

The tee-off pension is abolished - at least if it goes to the business association The Young Entrepreneurs. Retirement should be linked to increased life expectancy.

Welcome to The Morning @SPIEGELONLINE .
Today, Sven Scharf accompanies you to the day until 9 o'clock - here you will find the author on Twitter.
The most important political topics of the day can be found compactly in our briefing DIE LAGE.

Do we all have to work longer soon? At least that's the wish of "The Young Entrepreneurs". A commission established by the trade association calls for a higher retirement age. In future, retirement will be linked to life expectancy. "We need profound changes, otherwise the pension system will soon be flying around our ears," said the chairman of the association, Sarna Röser, the German Press Agency. Due to the increasing life expectancy, the pension has increased. Therefore, one has to work longer to reach a certain pension level. For example, three years more life expectancy should be worked two years more, one year of which should be retirement. "If life expectancy continues to rise as fast as in recent decades, a retirement age of over 67 is inevitable," said Röser. The tee-off pension with 63 for longtime insured should also be abolished. Since 2014, you can retire at the age of 63 after at least 45 years of pension payment without deductions. 9/13/19 4:21 AM Almost forgot - here comes the overview of our news of the night: In Turkey, five journalists of the "Cumhuriyet" have been released from prison 145 US companies call for a sharper arms law funding gap in the Deutsche Bahn Controversy in the Democratic presidential candidate's TV debate Losers and winners of the auto show 9/13/19 4:15 AM It does not come as a complete surprise to me: According to a Forsa survey, almost every third woman and every fourth man in Germany has a vote Fear of inpatient treatment in a clinic.
