Amidst a large turnout, the Jin Ling Museum of Art in Nanjing, the Chinese cultural capital, held an exhibition of Syrian artist Walid Ali entitled "Step on the Silk Road."

The exhibition, which is the first of its kind by a Syrian artist in the Chinese cultural city, included more than 100 paintings, ranging from the artist's portrayal of Syrian life to his old artistic experience of Damascus and the countryside, as well as paintings depicting Chinese daily nature.

The exhibition attracted a large number of foreign and Chinese visitors during which the attendees from the elite Chinese artists in Jiangsu and Nanjing Province and a number of important figures interacted with the artist's presentation of the real image of the Syrian civilization.

In an interview with SANA, the artist stressed the importance of art in consolidating cultural and artistic relations between peoples, citing China's popular stances in support of Syria.

The artist Ali carried with him Syrian laurel leaves from his village of Tallinn in Banias as a symbol of love and victory achieved by the Syrian Arab Army and a token of thanks to the visitors of the exhibition.

On the sidelines of the exhibition, the museum officials honored the artist Ali by giving him a certificate of appreciation and first class thanks to adding a special painting of his works to the collection of Jin Ling Museum of Art.
