"Ask yourself" is the name of the online format in which viewers can directly submit questions to politicians who visit the ARD in the summer interview. Alexander Gauland, national spokesman and chairman of the AfD parliamentary group, will participate in the summer interview next Sunday. According to the ARD capital office, he had the question-tool but canceled "short notice".
"Unfortunately, our online format 'Frag itself' will be dropped this week," wrote the Hauptstadtstudio on Friday on his blog. The questions will now be provided exclusively by studio director Tina Hassel.
According to the ARD, all those who participated in the summer interview so far also agreed to the online question and answer session: Christian Lindner (FDP), Annalena Baerbock (Greens), Markus Söder (CSU), Manuela Schwesig (SPD), Dietmar Bartsch (left) and Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer (CDU).
"We regret Alexander Gaulands rejection, especially since many users have sent interesting questions as e-mail or video," the ARD continues. Interested parties should refrain from submitting further questions.
Gauland offered to look for another party representative for the format. The station for "equality" rejected this.
