[14th Reuters]-US President Trump announced on the 14th that he killed Hamza, the son of Al Qaeda leader, the late suspector Usama bin Laden in a terrorist campaign.
In a statement issued by the White House, President Trump explained that the operation took place in the Afghanistan-Pakistan region, but did not reveal any further details.
President Trump said that Hamza ’s death “takes important leadership from Al-Qaeda and symbolic links with his father (the late Usama bin Laden), greatly weakening the organization's activities.”
One US official told Reuters that the hamza was killed several months ago near the border between Afghanistan and Pakistan.
At the time of the murder, Hamza is believed to have been around 30 years old. Al-Qaeda carried out a simultaneous US attack on September 11, 2001. Usama bin Laden was killed in 2011 by the US military.
Hamza then called for terrorism to the west, proclaiming retaliation for the United States who killed his father. The US Department of State designated Hamza as an international terrorist in 2017.
